The Anton Oxford

Norse Projects Anton Oxford

Originally inspired in 1896 by the equestrian sport of Polo, where players wore a button down collar to prevent the collar flapping in their face, the oxford shirt has remained a hallmark of classic American style and the foundation for each Norse Projects collection.

With style, fit and quality at the core of the Norse Projects ethos, the beloved Anton Oxford shirt is a wardrobe staple; with its simplified design and updated fit.

The SS13 Anton Oxford features:

  • 2x2 Basket Weave oxford cloth woven in Portugal.
  • The oxford cloth has undergone sanforization treatment to reduce the chances of shrinkage occurring; and a light garment wash to soften the fabric.
  • Buttons have been reinforced with a small circle of self-fabric for extra strength.
  • The second button is set slightly higher than most traditional oxfords to allow the wearer to unbutton the top button with out exposing too much chest.
  • Instead of over-locking the inside side and shoulder seams are chain stitched with a covered seam finish for added strength.
  • Stitched using 6-7 stitches per cm which takes longer, but results in stronger seams and a neat finish.
  • A shorter collar is used to keep with the minimal Norse Projects approach.
